Whether you are a kid or an adult, Ice Cream attracts everyone. One cannot resist himself eating ice cream. But, do you know, eating ice cream during night time can affect your sleep. Yes it is true.
Ice Cream is a dairy product based food that takes longer time to digest and keep your digestive system active. It has a good sugar content similar to cakes and candies. It increases the blood sugar levels and pancreases releases insulin. Thus, keeping your cells active. You may experience problems in sleeping.
Alcohol
Having a glass of wine, scotch or whisky helps you fall asleep. It relaxes your body cells and you will get to bed quickly. But, it affects our natural sleep cycle. Also, it will leave you feel drowsy and tired once you wake up in the morning. You could feel less productive next day.
Citric fruits
Lemons, tomatoes, and grapes etc belongs to citric family. They are a good source of amino acid. Consumption of citric food items in night releases amino acid inside the body that keeps brain active thus affecting the sleep. The presence of Vitamin C in citric fruits could lead to acid reflux or acidity. Thus, keeps you to stay awake later night.
Meat or fish
Meat is a good source of protein and amino acid. As Amino acid keeps brain active while proteins takes longer time to digest. Thus, it could keep your brain and digestive system active and hinder you from sleeping.
Tea, Chocolate and Coffee
Tea and Coffee are good sources of amino acid and have nicotin content. Having a cup of tea or coffee prior 60-90 minutes before bed will release instant energy and keep your cells active. It delays fatigue.
On the other hand, Chocolate contains theobromine, which increases heart rate and causes sleeplessness. So, it is better to avoid caffine and chocolate items before going to bed.
