Rangoli is an art of decorating a floor or ground using flower petals, Rangoli powder, rice, or flour. The word Rangoli comes from a Sanskrit word “Rangavali” that denotes a design, sculpture, pattern or painting. The root origin of Rangoli belongs to the Indian Subcontinent. In India, people draw Rangoli during occasions like Diwali, Gudi Padwa, Onam, Pongal, and other major Hindu festivals.

What is Rangoli made of?
